Red Ball ages 5-7

Launch kids into a lifetime of fun! Classes will stress athletic development, coordination and basic tennis strokes with kid-friendly equipment. Beginner-friendly low compression balls will be used, and players should bring rackets sized 23” or less. Children learn the joy of tennis through fun games and exercises.

Goal: Upon completion, players should be able to rally back and forth with a coach six times using proper swing path stroke. More importantly, we work so that students are excited for each training session. We are fueling the future!

Orange Ball ages 8-13

Our orange ball program is designed for beginners, advanced beginners, and intermediates, focusing on proper technique for all basic strokes taught through proven drills and competitive games. Players will be separated based on age and ability with the appropriate ball.

Goal: Upon completion, players should be able to rally back and forth with a coach 10 times using proper form while allowing the ball to bounce only once. Come crush it on the court!

Green Ball ages 9-13

Our green ball program is designed for beginners, advanced beginners, and intermediates, focusing on proper technique for all basic strokes taught through proven drills and competitive games. Players will be separated based on age and ability with the appropriate ball.

Goal: Upon completion, players should be able to rally back and forth with a coach 10 times using proper form while allowing the ball to bounce only once. Come crush it on the court!

Yellow Ball Intermediate ages 10-14

This program focuses on the low intermediate level yellow ball player. Emphasis is on proper technique and rallying, serving consistently, and preparing for competition in tournaments or on school teams. Players are grouped according to ability and age.

Goal: Upon completion, players should be able to serve consistently and play a full match. Game on!

Advanced Middle and High School Players

This program is designed for high school team players and middle schoolers who play regularly in USTA sanctioned tournaments. At this stage of development, opponents are bigger and stronger, thus player fitness and conditioning is a determining factor for success. Classes are structured around a balance of instruction, strategy, drills, point play, and physical conditioning for both singles and doubles play. Players are grouped according to ability and age.

Goal: Students are expected to schedule outside match play, register for tournaments, and participate in off-court fitness conditioning to further the development of their game.

National Level High-Performance Training

Students accepted into this program have seriously committed to tennis, hold a high MATA ranking and compete in USTA sanctioned national level tournaments. Flexibility is developed through pre-and post-practice stretching. Students develop a growth mindset, a concept meaning big results are achieved through hard work. This principle will serve them both on and off the court. Acceptance into this program is highly competitive and requires approval by Damian prior to registration.

Goal: Students work to play college tennis and beyond. We know dreams come true.

“I started working with Damian when I was in 8th grade. My game at the time was passive and lacked any weapons that would help me break through into a more elite junior level. Together we developed my forehand and my serve into the weapons that helped me play Division 1 college tennis at Columbia University and professionally on the ATP World Tour. Damian’s philosophy of outworking your competition and having a growth mindset for improvement really resonated with me. As Damian and I started to get to know each other better, he would make extra time in his day to meet me at 6 a.m. before school and help me improve my agility and fitness. He felt that part of my game was just as important for me to reach my potential as the on-court aspect. Damian was as eager as I was for me to improve — and the results showed over time. I went from #20 in the Mid-Atlantic in 14s to #2 as an 18-year-old. In the years since I left Richmond, Damian still finds time to follow my results and mentor me in ways that extend far beyond the tennis court.”

“Damian and I worked together for about 6 years during my early development. He strived to make me a better player than I was the day before every time we stepped onto the court.  Damian always was so enthusiastic in his coaching and it fueled my personal excitement on the tennis court. My time spent with him building my tennis helped set me in motion for many years to come!”
